Catalog Manager Internship

About Us: We are a Nashville-based music publishing company dedicated to curating and managing a diverse catalog of high-quality music for synchronization purposes. With an expansive range of genres and styles, our catalog is used by filmmakers, TV producers, advertisers, and other media creators.

Internship Description: As a Catalog Manager intern, you will play a vital role in the operations of our sync music department. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced management team as well as with our creatives (songwriters, composers, music producers and artists) to gain valuable hands-on experience in catalog management, music publishing, music licensing, and synchronization processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Catalog Management: Assist in organizing and maintaining our extensive music catalog, including metadata management, file organization, and database updates.
  2. Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, potential clients, and opportunities for catalog expansion.
  3. Licensing Support: Support the licensing team in processing synchronization requests, negotiating deals, and ensuring proper clearance of music rights.
  4. Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to fulfill their music needs, provide catalog recommendations, and assist in the selection and licensing process.
  5. Creative Input: Contribute creative ideas and suggestions for enhancing our catalog, developing promotional materials, and optimizing our online presence.

Requirements:

  • Passion for music and a keen interest in the music publishing industry.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and familiarity with (or interest in learning) music-related software & tools such as Source Audio, DISCO and performance rights organization databases.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
